How to Rig It
Articulated streamer on a sink-tip line. The flat-trimmed deer-hair head pushes water and rides hook-up along the bottom like a real sculpin.
How to Present It
Cast tight to banks and structure, strip aggressively with frequent pauses. Crawl it slowly along the bottom in deep runs.
Why It Works
Sculpin are the #1 protein source for big trout in many rivers, and the flat-trimmed deer-hair head pushes water in the exact wake signature of a real sculpin darting along the bottom.
History
One of Galloup's go-to articulated sculpin patterns, designed at his Slide Inn shop on the Madison River for anglers chasing the biggest brown trout in the system.
Pro Tip
Strip it hard, then DEAD STOP for a 3-second pause. Following browns commit on the pause more often than on the strip. If you don't get crushed during the pause, strip again.
Frequently Asked Questions

How is it different from a Sex Dungeon?+
The Heifer Groomer has a more pronounced sculpin head and is designed to fish closer to the bottom; the Sex Dungeon is a more general-purpose articulated baitfish.
